Pakistani PM Kakar to Join Global Climate Talks in UAE

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Pakistan's Caretaker Prime Minister, is set to participate in the 28th Session of the United Nations-organized Global Climate Change Conference. This important gathering will take place at the Dubai Expo Centre in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan has expressed its commitment to being a part of this event, highlighting the nation's wealth of experience in tackling climate issues.

PM Kakar's attendance provides an opportunity to engage with global leaders and discuss pressing climate concerns. Since taking office in August, he has visited several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and China.

Pakistan, a country well-versed in dealing with climate challenges, aims to share its knowledge and expertise with others. The UAE, where the conference is being held, faces the harsh impacts of climate change due to its hot and humid climate. Rising temperatures make life increasingly challenging and lead to higher costs for essentials like electricity and water. Pakistan seeks collaboration with other nations to find solutions to these issues.

Notably, this is the second time in two years that the Middle East hosts this critical climate conference, following Egypt's hosting last year. The conference, scheduled for the end of next month, will feature experts from Pakistan engaging in pre-conference discussions in the UAE.

In the past, Pakistan received financial support from other countries at similar conferences, underscoring the nation's commitment to addressing climate change and making the world a better place. This involvement signifies Pakistan's dedication to fighting climate change on a global scale.
