Kishmala Talat: Pakistan's Shooting Star Aims for Olympic Glory

Kishmala Talat, a 21-year-old Pakistani woman, is set to make waves at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Despite facing cultural barriers and limited support for shooting sports in Pakistan, Kishmala is determined to achieve her dream of winning Pakistan's first Olympic medal for women.

Coming from a military family, Kishmala has defied stereotypes by pursuing shooting sports, where she competes in the 10-meter and 25-meter pistol events. She trains rigorously for 10 hours daily, focusing on shooting practice, exercise, and meditation to enhance her concentration.

In Pakistan, where cricket dominates and women's participation in sports is often discouraged, Kishmala's journey is groundbreaking. Supported by Pakistan's military, she trains in Jhelum with access to top coaches and facilities.

Her mother, Samina Yaqoob, a nurse in the army, is proud of Kishmala's determination. Samina believes in supporting girls to achieve their dreams, echoing Kishmala's message of empowerment for Pakistani women.

Despite the challenges and her current world ranking, Kishmala remains undeterred. She sees the Olympics as a platform to inspire girls in her country, showing them that with dedication and support, they too can achieve greatness.
