Heavy Rain Warning in Sindh: Government on High Alert

The Sindh government is on high alert as the weather office predicts heavy rainfall across the province from August 27 to 30, 2024. Karachi could see up to 200mm of rain, while other cities like Thatta, Sujawal, and Badin may receive more than 500mm. This significant weather event has prompted the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, to lead a high-level meeting with ministers and mayors to discuss preparations.

Emergency measures include cleaning major drains in Karachi and other cities to prevent flooding, monitoring river levels, and preparing emergency supplies like tents, blankets, and mosquito nets. The government has also established a helpline for residents needing assistance during the rains: 021-99207349 or 021-99207568.

With strong winds and heavy rainfall expected, the Sindh government is doing everything possible to safeguard citizens and minimize the impact of the impending weather. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
