PCB releases wrist spinner and top order batter from Pakistan squad against Bangladesh: Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made strategic adjustments to its squad ahead of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, starting on August 21. Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and uncapped top-order batsman Kamran Ghulam have been released from the main squad. Abrar will now represent Pakistan Shaheens in the four-day match against Bangladesh A, while Kamran Ghulam will lead the Shaheens in the same match.

The decision comes as weather reports indicate that rain might disrupt the Rawalpindi Test, prompting Pakistan to potentially field a pace-heavy lineup. The squad, currently trimmed to 15 players, will return to its original strength of 17 after the conclusion of the Shaheens’ match.

With Mahmudul Hasan missing out due to injury, Bangladesh will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto. Pakistan will rely on its big guns, including Sarfaraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, as they gear up for the series.
