PNS Hunain Strengthens Maritime Ties with Oman on Its Maiden Voyage

The Pakistan Navy's warship PNS Hunain recently embarked on its maiden voyage from Romania to Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in the country's naval history. Along the way, the ship made a strategic stop at Salalah Port in Oman, where it participated in a bilateral exercise with the Royal Oman Navy.

The exercise, conducted during the Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) in the Gulf of Oman, underscored the strong maritime cooperation between Pakistan and Oman. These exercises are vital for promoting regional stability, enhancing tactical operations, and strengthening overall ties between the two nations. The Hunain's participation demonstrated Pakistan's commitment to collaborating with its allies on maritime security and other critical issues.

Upon arrival at Salalah Port, PNS Hunain received a warm welcome from officers of the Royal Oman Navy. The visit included various bilateral activities, such as exchange visits and sharing professional knowledge, further deepening the relationship between the two navies. The exercise concluded with a naval drill between PNS Hunain and the Royal Navy of Oman Warship RNOV SADH, showcasing the interoperability between the forces.

PNS Hunain is the third of Pakistan’s Yarmook-class corvettes, constructed at the Damen Naval Shipyard in Romania. The ship is set to be officially inducted into the Pakistan Navy on September 6, 2024, further enhancing the nation's maritime capabilities.
