UAE's Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza: Balancing Diplomacy and Aid Amidst Conflict

UAE has emerged as one of the leading providers of humanitarian aid to Gaza during the current Israel–Hamas. It has developed a multi-track approach that combines relief work with diplomatic subtleties. The UAE has invested about $700 million since the outbreak of war, indicating its determination to take a central role in addressing this problem.

To this end, it established operations in El-Arish, launched medical initiatives including field hospitals at Rafah which managed almost 50,000 patients and a floating hospital moving around Mediterranean.

However, the UAE also faces several challenges such as ongoing violence, Israel’s resistance to calls for ceasefire and criticism from Arab nations about its normalization of relations with Israel. In these complexities, UAE’s undertakings emphasize both its increasing regional influence and hampering prospects of sustained peace within continuing hostilities.
