UAE’s Role in Mediating Russia-Ukraine Prisoner Exchanges


 The UAE has once again demonstrated its diplomatic prowess by successfully mediating the seventh prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine in 2024. This latest exchange involved the release of 115 prisoners from each side, bringing the total number of prisoners freed through UAE mediation to over 1,700 this year. 

The UAE's consistent efforts highlight its commitment to global peace and stability, positioning the nation as a trusted and impartial mediator in international conflicts. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the governments of Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and de-escalation in resolving conflicts. 

As the world watches, the UAE continues to lead by example, showing that even in the most challenging circumstances, diplomacy and humanitarian efforts can make a significant difference. The UAE remains dedicated to supporting peaceful resolutions and reducing the humanitarian impact of conflicts globally.
