Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim’s Historic Visit to Pakistan Strengthens Bilateral Relations

 


Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim has embarked on his first official visit to Pakistan, signifying a new era in the two countries' longstanding relationship. During his 3-day visit, PM Anwar met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other key Pakistani officials to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including trade, energy, and the halal industry. The two nations signed important agreements, including MoUs between the Trade Development Authorities and the Telecommunications sectors of both countries.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties, with both leaders expressing optimism for future collaborations, particularly in areas like tourism, cultural exchanges, and technology. A highlight of the visit includes PM Anwar Ibrahim being honored with Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the “Nishan-i-Pakistan.”

With shared cultural and religious values, Malaysia and Pakistan continue to build on their historical connection, further solidified by their joint efforts as members of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation).
