Pi Network Reveals 100 Billion Tokens for Community Growth

Pi Network has announced a big change in its plan by introducing a total of 100 billion Pi tokens. This new token system is designed to be fair and friendly for the community. The idea is to make sure that everyone gets an equal chance to benefit, and no one gets too much power early on. Pi Network wants to make cryptocurrency simple and open for everyone around the world.

Out of the 100 billion tokens, 65% will be given to users as rewards for mining. This means people who use the app and help the network grow will earn most of the tokens. Then, 10% is set aside for the Pi Foundation, which will use it to develop the network and bring new features. Another 5% is for helping with trading and liquidity. The remaining 20% will go to the core team who built and manage the project.

A special feature of this plan is how the tokens become available. The more users move their Pi to the main network (called the Mainnet), the more tokens are released. For example, if 6.5 billion tokens are moved, that means 10 billion total can be used. This way, the supply grows as the community grows, making it fair for everyone.

However, some people are worried about how much control the core team still has. Reports say that the team controls over 82 billion tokens, which is a large amount. This raises concerns about whether the project is truly decentralized. A decentralized system should have power spread across many users, not just a few.

After launching its Open Network in February 2025, the Pi token's price went up fast but also dropped quickly. It first jumped to $2.00 but fell by more than 65% soon after. This shows that the Pi coin is still very new and its price can change a lot in a short time, which can be risky for investors and users.

In the end, Pi Network’s new plan shows they want to involve the community and make things transparent. The idea of rewarding users and growing with them is a positive step. But the team will need to solve issues like price stability and central control if they want Pi to succeed in the long run.
