Wankhede Stadium pitch report: India vs England, semi-final 2, T20 World Cup 2026

he ICC men’s T20 Cricket semi-finals are almost complete. India will face England, with the winner taking on New Zealand for the World Cup Championship.

Just the day prior, New Zealand won a thrilling game against South Africa, where Finn Allen played the hero. His century propelled New Zealand to a nine-wicket victory over South Africa. Prior to the match, South Africa had gone undefeated in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Here are some predictions for the semi-final match, the weather report, where to watch, and one fun stat to observe while cricket fans look at potential history in the making.

Bold Prediction For India vs England Semi-Final

The stakes haven’t been higher for these two teams during this year’s World Cup. This will be the biggest game both clubs participate in, second only to the final match (and whoever reaches it).

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan shared a bold prediction on a recent podcast. He claims he has a “funny feeling” that England will come out the victor.

“England’s fielding has been absolutely exceptional,” Vaughan said on the Test Match Special Podcast. “They look really alert. England’s running between the wickets has been exceptional. The small percentage things you can control themselves, England seem to be doing very well.”

“I just have a funny feeling England can get the job done in Mumbai.”

Meanwhile Ajay Gandhar of The Sporting News believes that two of India’s bowlers could be the difference between disappointment and another World Cup Final appearance.

“Arshdeep Singh, who leads in wickets for India in this T20 World Cup, will be essential on Thursday,” Gandhar wrote. “But Jasprit Bumrah’s precise bowling might just decide the match’s outcome.”

Finally, one fun stat to keep in mind for Thursday’s match. Both England and India have won the World Cup twice. However, no club has ever won three World Cups.

Whoever wins on Thursday could go on to be the first.
