Dr. Zakir Naik Visits Pakistan for 15 Days

Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, he was warmly welcomed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, with officials such as Dr. Syed Atta Ur Rehman and Shamsher Ali Mazari present. Dr. Naik, alongside Sheikh Faruk Naik, is scheduled to visit key cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. His visit to Pakistan had been highly anticipated since 2020 but was delayed due to the global pandemic. The invitation for this visit came from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's government. In a recent podcast, Dr. Naik explained his decision to initially settle in Malaysia rather than Pakistan, noting that he holds a deep respect for Pakistan and its people. PTI's Rawalpindi Rally: Section 144 Imposed

 In anticipation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) rally on September 28 & 29 in Rawalpindi, the government has imposed Section 144 to maintain law and order. PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan had announced the rally to show support for their leader, Imran Khan. Although the party had initially sought permission for the rally from the Deputy Commissioner's office, they later withdrew their request, sparking concern over potential disruptions. Omar Ayub Khan, a key opposition leader, has urged supporters to attend in large numbers, stating it is their legal and constitutional right. Despite the imposition of Section 144, many roads in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Attock have been blocked with heavy containers as a precautionary measure.   The IMF executive board is meeting today to discuss and potentially approve Pakistan’s $7bn Extended Fund Facility. Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Muhammed Aurangzeb, expressed optimism that the program will be approved.  The loan is expected to support ongoing economic reforms, with inflation and interest rates already showing significant improvement. Pakistan’s current account has also reported a surplus, marking a positive trajectory for the nation's financial health.  Additionally, the second phase of CPEC is set to begin, focusing on the monetization of infrastructure built during the first phase. This could lead to further private sector growth and help drive Pakistan’s economic stability.

Lt Gen Asim Malik Appointed as New DG ISI: A Strategic Leadership Shift

  Lieutenant General Mohammed Asim Malik has been appointed as the new Director General of the Inter Service Intelligence (ISI). The new DG succeeds Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum and will assume command from 30th Sept onwards. Lt Gen Asim Malik is currently serving as an Adjutant General at the general headquarters in Rawalpindi. The newly appointed chief has previously led the infantry brigade in Waziristan and the infantry division in Balochistan before being transferred to Rawalpindi. Adding to that, he has also received the Sword of Honour during his course, and has served as Chief Instructor at the National Defence University (NDU). Also, he has been an instructor at Command and Staff College in Quetta. NADRA: Simplifying Pakistan's National Identity System

Rs.2 billion allocated by the government for Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal
